This project was inspired by the awe and raw savageness of medieval weaponry. Holding this flail evokes a sense of power and carnage like no other project I’ve done before. The weight comes in at 6lbs, with five 3” spikes covering the forged steel ball which was born on the Nazel 3b power hammer. A forged I-hook ties the ball into the hand forge welded steel chains forged from 3/8th” steel. Moving down the piece the chain is affixed to the octagonal Taperyva exotic wood handle using a domed 3/8” pin with copper bronze alloy spacers for stability. In case that 6lb ball of spikes isn’t enough, I added a forged talon for extra destruction to the end of the handle which also adds a bit of counterweight.
