We are proud to offer a handle that is the same high quality as what we use for our own LH axes, and nothing less. All Handles Are Guaranteed Against Cracks, Irregularly Twisted Grain, and Flaws that Compromise the Integrity of the Handle. Our premium handles are offered in a #1 and #2 grade. Our #1 grade ensures all of the characteristics listed above and guarantees straight, parallel grain orientation on your handle. Our #2 grade ensures the characteristics listed above but with grain orientation running non-parallel. All handles under 24” in length feature #2 grade grain. After thorough testing we have concluded that a short handled axe does not impart enough force for parallel grain orientation to play a role in handle durability. We recommend our #1 grade for the experienced craftsman or for an axe you must highly depend on. Our #2 grade long handle is still a fantastic choice for a working axe, watch our testing video here to see for yourself - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqUU52xH93A

These handles are elegantly and ergonomically sculpted, ending in a generous palm swell. The handle comes with a “cone-end” below the palm swell. This feature presents multiple benefits to the handle, such as protection against damage to the palm swell when fitting. Once fitted you have the option of leaving it as-is, cutting it off to the curvature of the swell or rounding it over to add a classy, vintage style bulb end. Your handle will come with 1 walnut wedge and a coat of boiled linseed oil for preservation.

We don’t recommend burning our handles as this can create cracks and may compromise the integrity of the handle. Any burned handles will not be guaranteed.
