History Of Blacksmithing, A Re-inspired Craft

Blacksmiths have a rich history in human civilization, and can even be seen as the progressive kings of old. Everything made out of steel was forged by the blacksmith, they helped conquer empires with their weapons, and forged new civilizations from the vestiges.

Steel is heated by the blacksmith until it becomes red hot and malleable, and once soft it can be maneuvered by hammers and other tools. Forging is similar to working with clay or play dough, except you can't use your hands! They revolutionized the future with their work, and their disciplined craftsmanship is now integrated into every modern drop-forging factory in the world. Just think on the amazing blacksmithing prowess advanced into the production of your car and cellphone! Remote villages still exist today that utilize a local blacksmith.

But these remarkable technological innovations have distracted us from the divine beauty that exists only in things forged deliberately by hand, for true craftsmanship transcends technology. My inspiration is creating products that are also aesthetically beautiful - For this animates my commodities into sentimental trophies that are cherished forever.

DISCIPLINE

I believe hard work and absolute dedication to a craft teaches values that cannot be comprehended or understood in any other way, and this is why I forge. Knowing where money comes from is important, and knowing that you persevered, and worked hard to attain something is satisfying.

PASSION

Passion plays the biggest role in my business. My business started as a hobby ignited by a passion. And with that passion Hoffman Blacksmithing was forged. Everything that you work for should be done with passion towards that goal, and someone can see when that has happened. Most importantly, have fun!

QUALITY

Large businesses focus far more on outsourcing and lowering costs than the needs of the consumer, and their products affirm this sad lack of pride with their low durability. But I pride myself in attaining the highest distinction of quality, even though it means sacrificing profit and time. My fulfillment has always come from the craftsmanship.
